YOU SHOULD NEVER LOOK A THE SUN WITHOUT A FILTER. THAT’S WHY WE’RE HOSTING THIS EVENT WHERE WE HAVE EQUIPMENT FOR YOU TO SAFELY VIEW THE SOLAR ECLIPSE.

MAKE YOUR OWN PINHOLE PROJECTOR TO VIEW THE SOLAR ECLIPSE. VIEW THE SUN SAFELY THROUGH TELESCOPES.

  • Free parking behind Reichardt Bldg. from 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
  • Optimal viewing of solar eclipse at 9:21 a.m.
  • Live streaming of eclipse from Oregon in 201

The UAF Department of Physics will host a free viewing of the solar eclipse. Look at the eclipse with our telescopes or make your own telescope. The event is free.

There will be free parking marked for the event behind the building starting at 8:00 a.m. The eclipse will last from 8:30am to 10:15am, with maximum eclipse visible at 9:21am. Inside the Reichardt Building, visitors can view a live-stream of the full solar eclipse from Oregon.
